The beginning of a brand New Year:
OK, OK, Already; I had promised myself that I would start trying, and I emphasize the word TRY to do a daily (or every other day) update to my blog. I do post the "Word of Encouragement" to the blog 5 days of the week, but I am very slack in posting any other updates that goes on in the day to day happenings of the ministry.
So; we will try to correct that issue, even though we are already 6 days into 2015. To get up to speed, I will have to go back to December 24, 2014. We started our Christmas time off on the Wednesday, but we had to fill the Baptismal Tank on that day as we were having a Pre-New Years Eve Service on Saturday December 27th, so it had to be filled, turned on and heated by Saturday. After all; who wants to step into 300-400 gallons (not sure of exact amount of water it holds) of cold, or even water that is at room temperature. We set the temperature for 103 degrees and prayed that the church would not loose power, but all was well.
During the time from December 23, 2014, till now we had somewhat of a busy time. We had a great time with friends and family members on Christmas Eve; Spent Christmas Day visiting our two daughters, and we ended up taking down the Christmas decorations by 5:00 PM on Christmas Day. Nothing like pushing to get everything back to normal after the Holidays.
On that Saturday, December 27th, we did indeed have the Pre-New Years Eve Service, which included the Worship Team from Pastor Cecilio Hernandez's church. Pastor Cecilio brought forth the Word of God; that was followed by the Baptismal Service, in which the water was truly 103 degrees, which everyone that was Baptized was very appreciative; then we had a Pot Luck Dinner, followed by a Yankee Swap. Everyone in attendance had a great time.
Sunday, December 28th, the Youth of Lowell Assembly of God conducted the morning service and Jerry Onema preached and did a great job as usual.
The following week was about as normal as could be with the New Years Holiday on Thursday. It is always a good thing to have the time off around the holidays and I always enjoy the time.
Over the course of having the different days off from December 24th until now, we also ended up paying a visit to two hospitals to see folks that were spending some time there. One of which gave her heart to Jesus as Lord and Savior of her soul. One of the others had a procedure done, and the third gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
While at the office on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, I was checking my voice mail and had a message from a woman whom I had met before at one of the Assisted Living Communities we conduct a monthly at. She informed me that she was just starting at a new Retirement Living Community that will be opening up at the end of January 2015. She asked if were possible to pay her visit to see about starting a monthly service there as well. Well; I am happy to say that we conduct our first service on February 21st. We are very grateful and thankful to the Lord to be able to take on this new opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As you may recall, we are involved in several Nursing Homes; Rehab Centers; Assisted Living Communities and Adult Day Care Centers. We feel the great need to reach these Seniors with the Gospel, as they are as close to crossing over into eternity as they will ever come without passing from this earth.
On Saturday, January 3, 2015, we had a home visitation in the form of going to dinner with a couple from the church; preached on Sunday, January 4th. The message title was "Are You Inside or Outside The Bottle"? If you want to view the message; go to www.lowellag.org and click on the archives tab to view the message.
Today, Tuesday, January 6th, we attended a Pastoral Breakfast with some other pastors of local churches in the Greater Lowell,Ma. area.
Well now; I think that we are up to date with the blog, and will be spending a couple of hours today preparing the Bible Study for tomorrow night (Wednesday) where we will be starting a new study entitled "The Works of the Sinful Nature" and "The Fruit of the Spirit." Come and join us; we would love to have you. I'll even give you the address.
