Catching Up on the Blog

Hello to all:

Well; here we are running a few days behind on the Blog, so it's time to do some catching up.

My last update was on Wednesday, January 21st. So let me update you on what has taken place since then.

I would have to start with Thursday, January 22nd. We conducted a monthly service at an Adult Day Care Center in North Andover, Ma. It is such a blessing and a BLAST to visit with these folks. They may be in various stages of Dementia, but they are very sharp in responding to all that goes on during our visit. My friend Susan accompanies me by playing the piano as we sing songs and the folks join in singing the old hymns and choruses that they remember from years gone by. Some of these ladies were Sunday School Teachers from their younger years. We are really looking forward to visiting them again in February. There are usually about 20-30 in attendance, this is one of best attended services that we conduct on a monthly basis.

Next; I have to move on to Friday, January 23rd. Spent a portion of the morning putting copies of DVD's together to be mailed out to Cable Companies and also to Nursing Homes. These DVD's are recordings of our Sunday Morning Services, which are burned to DVD's. We find that doing this as part of the Media Ministry of our church, we are still able to reach souls for Christ. The Cable Companies are located in seven different communities and increases the outreach of our church. On Sunday mornings, our service is live streamed over the internet, and the result is that there are those who have watched from different countries. In two instances, we were able to broadcast a wedding to the folks of both the Bride and Groom to their folks back in India. The second instance was broadcasting a funeral service so that a family member in Antigua. We thank the Lord for the Media Ministry.

Saturday is next on the list. Spent most of Saturday morning at the office going over study material and also my upcoming message. During a home visitation in the afternoon, I received a phone call about a member of our church being rushed to the hospital. I left to join a family member at the ER for several hours, while my wife carried on with the visitation. The patient came home the next day, but we are still lifting him up in prayer. The weather was not the best as it was snowing, sleeting and the roads were getting icy. One note to mention is, I have said in the past, that being in the ministry means that you are just like a member of a fire department waiting for the bell to go off, just like the above mentioned scenario.

I can honestly say that Sunday was more of a normal day.

Monday and Tuesday were days off, but New England was bracing for Blizzard Conditions, and they came on Monday night into Tuesday and all through the day up until about 10:00 PM. We ended up with about two and a half feet of snow. We even had Wednesday off as everyone was digging out. Wednesday Night Classes were also canceled.

Here is a picture of my car about 1/2 way through the Blizzard of 2015

Today; Thursday was spend at the office working on Bible Studies and other material as well. We did make a visit to a local nursing home on our way home, as tomorrow morning might be a little tough as we are having snow once again.

Well; that's the latest updates from the world of family man and being in the ministry.

Blessings.
