I am not sure how many people read my Blog Postings, (http://wwwsteveslatelifeadventures.blogspot.com/) but I have felt impressed today to post the following blog entry to my facebook page as well as our church's facebook page.
The title of this blog entry is "Across The Nation, And Around The World; It's Revival Time." This was the Theme of a radio program, supported and produced by the Assemblies of God, in Springfield, MO many years ago. When I was a child, I can remember the family, before going to church on a Sunday, would tune in to Rev. C. M. Ward and listen to the Revival Time Choir as they would sing a couple of old hymns before Rev. Ward would bring the message for the day.
Although the radio program has been off the air for many years. The truth of the Theme still rings true today. Our Nation and the World desperately need a Holy Ghost Revival to get us back to the place where we once were so long ago.
In the world that we live in today; when we as a nation face a major crisis, we seem to flock to churches across this nation and cry out to God for His help, and even dare to ask, "Where Is God"; Why Did He Let This Happen. Those are the questions that we as a nation ask in time of distress. Let me ask a question: Why is God obligated to even listen to our cries for help; when we have told Him to get out of our schools; Take His Commandments our of our public buildings; We have stopped reading His Word at the beginning of the school day, or say a prayer asking Him to bless our day; and now we ask, why are our Young People in so much trouble? We, as a nation are more interested in being Politically Correct, instead of being Biblically Correct.
Parents today have stopped parenting; and want to be friends with their children. The Family Alter has disappeared from our homes; Is it not true, that if our children did not attend church occasionally, they would never hear about God's Word. I hate to say it, but its true, we have let Sports take the place of Mid-Week Bible Study, and Sunday Morning Church where the family use to attend as a family. We want our children to be Well Rounded, instead of being Well Grounded. All the things that distract our youth today will not help them deal with the storms of life that come their way.
We live in such a fast paced world, that when we are confronted with the issues of life, or conflicts with others, we run off to those who will give us Worldly Advice, instead of picking up God's Word to find the answer to our problem which is already contained in God's Word. Instead of doing a Google Search, do a God Search, and allow Him to speak to your heart.
Yes my friend; we as a nation need God to send a Revival. A Revival that will convict men/women of their sins, for God's Word states the "All have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God." Romans: 3:23. A Revival that will cause us to love our neighbor, as God has loved us, regardless of the color of their skin.
The Leadership of our Nation needs to remember Why and How this Great Nation was founded. It was founded on the Word of God, and not on the word of man.
We as a Nation cannot turn our backs on God as we have done without expecting God to Judge us. We as a Nation need to begin to call on God for forgiveness; Only then will he listen to our cries for help.
We must ask for forgiveness for our sins first:
2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV
(14) if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
As a Nation; we need to pray; Revival can start in just one person, if that person is willing to call our to God and submit to His Will.
Will YOU be that person? Will YOU TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE AND BEGIN TO PRAY, AND ASK GOD TO SEND A SIN KILLING REVIVAL TO OUR LAND?
