NON RETIREMENT DINNER

Sounds funny doesn't? A Non Retirement Dinner; but that is what took place last Saturday Night. My wife Lynne and I decided that, since we are NOT RETIRING, we would take our two daughters and their husbands out to dinner, seeing that I am now receiving my Social Security checks. We had a great time and were sitting at the table thinking of how OLD we were all getting and all the Blessings we have. Two great daughters; tow great son-in-law's; eight grandchildren and married for 41 years to my Wonderful wife. Yes; God has been good to us in so many ways.

Like I stated earlier; we are not retiring, but will continue to be part of the work force and continuing in the Ministry that the Lord has called us too.

TWO DAYS IN A ROW:

Well I did it; two days in a row of posting. I just hope that I can keep posting on a regular basis. Not sure how many people read my posts, but I will try to keep posting like folks from all over the world are reading and getting blessed by the information and stories contained in this Blog.

I visited a fellow pastor today to assist him in setting up Google + and also Google Hangouts. I believe that these products are a great asset to being in the ministry and being able to communicate with members of our congregation. Being able to join a Hangout to just talk, or ask questions about what they read in God's Word; or just too drop by and say hello. Our church is looking into the idea of using Hangouts to do On Line Discipleship for new folks who have decided to make our church, their home church, or have just given their life to Jesus Christ, and have asked Him to forgive them of their sins.

Although Google + and Hangout are a free download, you will have to have a Google Account to place them on your desk top or Smart Phone, or i-Products. I personally use them as well as G-Mail for all my Contact, Calendar and my G-Mail account. Doing that allows me to have all my information regardless of where I am, or regardless of what devise I am using.

Give it a try and invite me to a video call or hangout that you have started. I am usually available most of the day.

Restarting the Blog

Hello Everyone:
I had an opportunity a day or so ago to come and check out my blog; all I can say is SHAME ON ME. I could not believe that the last time I blogged was August, 2012. I have to learn that it may be easier to get in the habit of trying to post everyday.

Over the next week, I will try my hardest to catch up on what has been going on in the Ministry; but for today, I will concentrate on the Van Ministry of our church. Well; let me give you the name of our church, the place where I have the privilege of being the Associate Pastor.

Over the past year, our van ministry has continued to grow. In speaking with the Senior Pastor on several occasions we tossed around the prospect of getting another van. We have one van already, but; sometimes on a Sunday Morning we need to make two, and on a rare occasion, three runs to get everyone to church on time. 

One day, both the Senior Pastor and I drove by a place that had a Mini Bus for sale. We both went to see it on another day, he liked it, so the church purchased it. We also decided to keep the van as well. Both vehicles are 15 passengers, including the driver. We wanted/needed to keep the seating at 14 as no one would need to obtain a special CDL License to drive either the van or mini bus.

Folks were finding it difficult to get into the van, but not so the mini bus, due to it having a center isle and low entry steps. The Van Ministry continues to grow and we are praying for the day to come when we will need both vehicles running for the morning services.

 In time we will need to get the wheel chair lift re-installed for more flexibility.
